OMG that is awesome!! im so glad i remembered to come and check out your first deviation, i even wrote on a little post-it note "see subformulate's new work" and stuck it on my computer screen!

the white paint on the black canvas has a really interesting effect, its like a photograph, but with a bit of a caracature quality to it. this is very well done, you definately have a talent in painting. i love the womans facila expression, and how shes in the dark just holding a ciggie and thinking. this is just so great

Thank you so much. This is from an old and famous photograph of an actress M.Deitreich, and I specifically wanted to capture that quality. The frame I made and painted white to represent the border of a photograph. It took about 6 weeks to do, and is in my hall way. Bloody enormous thing but I love her as she was my first real attempt.

Well done, it certainly is her. It's actually a famous photograph of her. I wanted the painting to replicate the photo so I built the frame to resemble a border. It kinda loses something here on dA. I guess i've been used to looking at her for the last 15 years on a much larger scale.

Was a little nervous, I think it's because with my interior and furniture design business, it's work so I'm always seeeking feedback and have a fantastic team and we work as a team. (Softest boss in the world). These pieces are mine and are very personal. I'm a man of great complexity apparently. That's what my much better half tells me anyway.
